Week 8 of 14
Praise, then wisdom
Days 50 to 56: Psalms 105 to Ecclesiastes 6, 83 chapters.
The Psalms close with the songs of ascent, sung on the road up to Jerusalem (120 to 134), the long meditation on God's word in Psalm 119, and five closing psalms of praise. Proverbs follows: a father's advice to a son in chapters 1 to 9, then hundreds of short sayings about speech, work, money, anger and friendship. Read them as wisdom about how life usually goes, rather than as promises. Ecclesiastes asks what any of it means "under the sun", and refuses easy answers.
Watch for the songs of ascent, Psalms 120 to 134.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.Proverbs 3:5-6
